Overview

Join our compassionate team as a Continuing Care Assistant, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. Whether assisting with daily activities, medication management, or creating a warm, welcoming environment, your efforts will help residents thrive and feel valued every day. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic setting that celebrates compassion, teamwork, and excellence in care.

Responsibilities

Support residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance to promote independence and comfort.
Administer medications accurately following established protocols to ensure safety and adherence to care plans.
Assist with meal preparation and feeding to meet nutritional needs while respecting individual preferences.
Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment and reduce feelings of isolation.
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas through routine cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene standards.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
Support residents with activities that enhance cognitive function, especially those living with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Assist with transportation for appointments or outings, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.

Skills

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable.
Strong background in senior care, including experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care.
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and active listening abilities.
Ability to perform light cleaning tasks and meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high hygiene standards.
Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members and connect meaningfully with residents.
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or resident needs in a fast-paced environment.
