Our Capital Delivery department within the Capital Projects Group, GO/UP division is looking for a Senior Manager, Project Delivery to join the team! You will manage a team of staff and service providers to deliver capital railway transit infrastructure projects encompassing the planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning and handover phases, and in accordance with approved timelines, budget and safety and quality standards.
What will I be doing?
Develop project delivery strategies while providing overall administrative and technical leadership and oversight to a capital program consisting of major, complex infrastructure projects to ensure consistency and coordination of efforts and successful completion of the program.
Plan, set objectives and control activities during all phases of the program, overseeing and working closely with assigned project team members in a hybrid-matrix environment.
Manage and contribute to the development of proposal estimates related to the scope of the project by reviewing and approving all plans, schedules, and tendering documents to ensure optimal coordination of projects within the program.
Review consultant proposals and contractor submittals and develop recommendations for proposed project solutions consistent with strategic plan and business objectives.
Provide collaborative leadership oversight to the team, and ensuring that critical project milestones, issues, risks, are identified early and contribute to the strategic mitigation plans
Oversee project activities to identify areas of potential exposure or non-compliance; takes appropriate actions to mitigate risk.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Completion of a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Demonstrated progressive experience in engineering and/or project management services associated with the planning, design, and implementation of complex projects.
Experience in the delivery of transit infrastructure including structures, bridges, tunnels, and civil works is an asset.
Strong project management skills and experience, including budget and schedule controls, leading cross-functional teams and consultants and monitoring project activities for adherence to schedule, budget, and scope.
Leadership ability to coach, mentor and manage a team of technical project professionals.
Problem solving and analytical skills to evaluate and address contractor and supplier performance issues and recommend plans for improvement.
Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to liaise with all levels within the organization and on construction sites.
