Job Title: Retail Experience Associate (Fuel & Convenience)

Job Summary:
As a Retail Experience Associate, you are the face of the store, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences while ensuring smooth daily operations. This role combines customer service, retail execution, and safety awareness in a fast-paced fuel and convenience environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience & Sales
- Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers
- Process transactions accurately, including cash, debit, credit, and mobile payments
- Promote and sell in-store products, including snacks, beverages, and convenience items
- Handle the responsible sale of beer and wine in compliance with regulations
- Resolve customer inquiries and concerns with a positive and solution-oriented approach
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Restock and organize inventory, including cold beverages, chocolates, candy, and other retail items
- Ensure shelves, coolers, and displays are clean, fully stocked, and visually appealing
- Receive and verify deliveries, ensuring inventory accuracy
- Monitor product freshness and rotate stock as needed
Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and welcoming store environment at all times
- Perform regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
- Ensure washrooms and high-traffic areas meet cleanliness standards
Safety & Security
- Follow all fuel handling and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff
- Monitor both interior and exterior areas of the store, including fuel pumps, for safety and security concerns
- Respond appropriately to incidents such as spills, theft, or emergencies
- Adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements
Brand Representation
- Represent the Petro-Canada brand with professionalism and integrity
- Uphold company standards, policies, and values in all interactions
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support coworkers as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash balancing
- Support promotional campaigns and seasonal displays
- Stay informed on product knowledge and store initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall store success
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive and helpful attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of gas station operations and familiarity with fuel dispensing systems (preferred, but not required).
