Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. operates in a competitive global market producing wide ranging metal based assemblies and components across a variety of industry sectors including but not limited to Mining, Oil & Gas, Crane and Drag-line Components, Agricultural, Machine building, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing.
Increased over the years, our extensive plant capacity developed to cater for our multi million pound turnover, is spread across four facilities manned by over 200 employees. It incorporates shot blasting, stress relieving, fitting, welding, machining, non-destructive testing, final paint, right on through to our own logistics network, resulting in high value finished items across many diverse sectors delivered right to the customer's door.
Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking *2 permanent full-time*(minimum of 40 - 50 hours per week) experienced welder to start as soon as possible. We have openings on afternoons shift. Southwestern Manufacturing typically operates on rotating shifts of days and afternoons. Our facility is located in Windsor, Ontario.
This role is located in Windsor Ontario. We do offer relocation assistance as well
Role Overview
The Welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using a variety of welding techniques. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. The Welder ensures all work meets quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of welding techniques, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), and multi-pass welding
- Able to stand for extended periods work within a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met
Education & Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ Welding experience
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to safely follow work instructions, drawings and safety procedures
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
- Current welding certification
Working Conditions
- Shop environment with exposure to noise, sparks, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention for detail to ensure tight deadlines are met.
