Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented optometrist assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical environment. This position involves assisting optometrist with patient examinations, managing front desk operations, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. A strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in patient care are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Assist optometrist during patient examinations and procedures.
Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and retinal imaging.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and update patient information in the system.
Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and greeting patients.
Provide patients with information regarding their eye health and treatment options.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment.
Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and office efficiency.

Experience

Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, particularly in optometry or ophthalmology.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Med Access.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is essential.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient care are required.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
