Full job description

Paramount 24Hr Animal Hospital is a locally, privately owned hospital seeking compassionate, friendly professionals to join our highly skilled and supportive team. Role Description: Assist in the acquisition of high-quality and effective diagnostic imaging studies while prioritizing optimal patient care.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

Collaborate with clinical teams to acquire diagnostic imaging studies, undertake diagnostic imaging procedures, and deliver comprehensive care
Rotate through different areas of the imaging department with a primary focus in CT and MRI and occasionally fluoroscopy and x-ray
Ensure radiation protection procedures and Canada Safety Code 35 are always adhered to
Accurately input patient data regarding imaging procedures and contrast injection onto paper and computer systems
Carry out diagnostic imaging studies as per the radiologist’s or other clinicians protocol and flag any concerns to the attending veterinarian in a timely fashion
Assist in the safe administration of contrast agents in all diagnostic imaging modalities
Perform Quality Assurance procedures daily and report any equipment errors to failures to the appropriate person(s)
Act as the radiation safety officer
In addition to your main duties, you may be required to carry out other duties consistent with your position to meet the needs of the practice. From time to time, the practice may require you to perform duties outside your normal working hours (additional hours during the week and weekends)

The Ideal Candidate:

D.C.R or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
Registered with CAMRT
Knowledge of radiation protection and Canada Safety Code 35
Experience in Veterinary CT, MRI, fluoroscopic, and radiography study acquisition
Experience with handling animals
Ability to produce high quality diagnostic imaging studies
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Basic IT skills
Ability to work in a high pressure and busy environment
Highly adaptable, flexible, and able to cope with an unpredictable workload
Willingness to participate in the on call and out of hours system
