At Elk Ridge Modular, we build high-end modular homes and cabins under one roof in Coldstream, BC — 16,000 sq ft of clean, organized shop with room to move and room to grow.

That means no weather delays, no mud, no chasing materials across a job site. Controlled conditions, consistent workflow, and the ability to actually dial in a process instead of fighting the same problems every day.

We're looking for a Skilled Builder in Framing to take ownership of the structural framing phase of our builds.

But the trade skill is only half of it. We can teach process and systems, and we'll invest in your development. What we're looking for is someone with the right attitude who wants to grow with us.

You're honest, even when it costs you something. If you screw up, you say so. If something's wrong, you flag it early instead of hoping nobody notices. We'd rather hear about a problem at 9am than find it at 4pm.

You'll work alongside our design, engineering, exterior, mechanical, electrical, and interior teams to bring projects to life from the ground up. You'll also help mentor Entry-Level Builders working in framing phases.

What This Role Is Accountable For

Professionally representing Elk Ridge Modular in all interactions
Building subfloors, walls, roof systems, and truss packages accurately and efficiently
Installing sheathing, backing, and framing support systems correctly
Installing windows and doors square, level, and properly integrated into framing systems
Installing insulation and vapour barrier systems according to build requirements
Maintaining structural precision, layout accuracy, and production flow
Coordinating with production teams to maintain project schedule
Submitting daily Work in Progress reports
Providing feedback on sequencing, efficiency, and process improvements
Assisting with occasional service or warranty work
Assisting with product delivery when required
Mentoring and guiding Entry-Level Builders
Looking after your weekly health, fitness, and mindfulness goals
Any other duties requested by ERM Leadership

Experience & Traits Needed

5+ years construction experience
Proven experience in wood framing and structural systems
Experience with floor systems, wall framing, trusses, sheathing, insulation, and vapour barrier
Strong understanding of structural assembly sequencing
Ability to read drawings, layouts, and install specs
High attention to detail
Pride in structural precision and efficiency
Strong communication skills
Reliable transportation

Not Required, But Helpful

Forklift experience
Forklift certification
Experience in prefab/modular construction

Compensation

$32–45/hour depending on experience and qualifications
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

If you're just “kind of okay” at framing, this probably isn't a fit. If you can walk into a framed structure and immediately spot crown issues, bad layout, or something out of square, you’ll be a great fit here.
