Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional food service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management, with proven leadership skills. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will play a vital role in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring efficient restaurant performance.

Responsibilities

Assist the Kitchen Manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise kitchen staff, including training, and performance management
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
Manage food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Oversee food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
Support interviewing and onboarding new team members
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining a welcoming environment
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service flow and resolve issues promptly
Maintain a positive team environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
Strong leadership and team management skills with supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
Experience in restaurant management, including overseeing daily operations and staff supervision
Ability to manage cash handling accurately and efficiently
Background in hospitality, hotel experience is a plus
Strong communication skills with the ability to interview, train, and motivate team members
Leadership qualities that promote a positive work environment and high team morale
