TITLE: MARINE TECHNICIAN
Totem Resorts is seeking an year-round marine mechanic with previous experience is outboard engines. The position offers year-round work, without layoffs in the winter. You may have flexible time off in the winter and a busy summer, providing you job security with lots of flexibility.
The lodge is located on beautiful Lake of the Woods, in Northern Ontario.
The candidate must be willing to relocate to Sioux Narrows, Ontario (housing and meals provided).
The candidate must have a very good understanding of outboard motors, boats, and general marine maintenance. WHMIS certification an asset.
This position runs from year-round (flexible time off in winter months in you so choose)

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Outboard Engine Marine Technician include but are not limited to the following:
· Plan and organize daily requirements for maintenance and repairs
· Servicing fleet of X150 Tohatsu outboard motors to insure they are in working order
· We are now a Honda and Tohatsu Marine Dealer.
· Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition, organized and secured
· Maintain accurate log of repairs completed, and provide status updates to the Management
· Work on assigned projects in a timely manner
· Plan & organize jobs for your crew of 1-2 other tech’s working under you
· Operating boats and motors on the open water
· Operates vehicles and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations
· Ordering parts online from Evinrude & Honda
· Rebuilding powerheads & installation
· Rebuilding lower units & installation
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Self-motivated
- Marine certifications are a plus but not necessary
- Knowledge of re-building lower units
- Knowledge in diagnosing outboard engine issues with computer software
- Installing new parts on outboards
- Ordering parts from suppliers at the lowest cost available
- Highly organized, capable in time management, strong communication skills, able to prioritize jobs efficiently
- Ability to lift & carry 50+ lbs, able to stand/walk for 8+ hours
- Experience in the safe and proper use of a variety of power & air tools
- Willing to help after hours for emergencies (banked time offered)
