CFSD serves as an umbrella agency that includes Renewal Psychotherapy Durham, Rose of Durham, and Safety Network Durham.
We provide help, hope and healing to individuals, couples, and families, including young or vulnerable parents, and those with experiences of gender-based violence, regardless of beliefs. We do this though evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling, education, and support.

Opportunity
CFSD is currently seeking a permanent full-time (30 hours per week) Volunteer Coordinator/Program Support staff to work for all three divisions of the agency. This individual will report to a Clinical Manager and will be responsible for building and maintaining the volunteer program in a focused and intentional manner to address agency needs, as well as providing support for agency programs by overseeing volunteers and / or completing required tasks to ensure agency programs are successfully delivered .
The primary duties required for these positions include, but are not limited to:
- First point of contact for all volunteer inquiries.
- Screens, interviews and trains all new volunteers.
- Maintain appropriate volunteer files as required for accreditation.
- Maintain an ongoing, full roster of volunteers and sourcing new volunteers as needed.
- Provide connection and support as required to maintain strong agency-volunteer relationships.
- Ensures adequate program coverage by volunteers for programs that utilize volunteers (this includes Bingo Sessions and the Share and Care room) as directed by Management.
- Ensures coverage of volunteer shift from volunteer bank, and provides last minute coverage if required and no volunteer is available.
- Provides schedules of tasks and direction to volunteers as needed for whatever program support volunteers are providing.
- Train and supervise high school co-op placement students.
- Planning and implementing volunteer appreciation events.
- Ensures the availability of snacks/food items and program supplies for all Agency groups and program activities, keeping receipts and submitting to finance.
- Oversee the preparation of the school lunches and snacks, filling in as necessary.
- Maintains kitchen supplies for the Agency.
- Receives donor calls for Share and Care Room, Layette and Christmas Drive.
- Oversees the receiving and organization of donations of new and used items, tracking for appropriate receipting and thank you notes as indicated.
- Book transportation for clients when required.
- Assist with accessing grocery gift cards for clients when requested, including the maintenance of the tracker.
- Assists with general office duties, including reception coverage as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications and Skills
· Business Administration Diploma or equivalent training/experience.
· Minimum (5 years) demonstrated administrative and volunteer coordination experience in a nonprofit organization or related field.
· Proven interpersonal, organization, time management and multitasking skills.
· Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
· Able to work flexible hours when necessary.
