Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organized Coffee Shop Employee to oversee daily operations at the first Seafood Cafe in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service, excellent customer service skills, and experience with making espresso - including dialling in espresso machines.

This role involves opening the store, baking cookies, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for customers.

This candidate plays a key role in delivering high-quality service, building report with regulars, while managing the workflow efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Open and prepare the café for daily service, including espresso setup, prep, and baking fresh cookies
Dial in espresso machines daily to ensure consistency and quality in all coffee beverages
Prepare and serve coffee, specialty drinks, and light food items efficiently and accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all front-of-house and coffee station areas
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests
Build strong relationships with regular customers and contribute to a positive community environment
Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or supply needs to management
Support smooth daily operations by managing workflow during busy service periods
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to maintain service standards

Qualifications

Previous café, coffee shop, or food service experience preferred
Experience operating and dialling in espresso machines is required
Strong multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Early morning availability required
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
