The Delivery / Recovery Driver III (AZ licenced with Air Brake Endorsement) is responsible for safely operating a delivery vehicle to transport new products to East Penn Canada customers and to pick up used or defective batteries for recycling. This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional deliveries, while maintaining compliance with all transportation, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up products according to established routes and schedules
- Operate all company delivery vehicles with the highest regard to road safety, and follow all rules and regulations relating to the transport of dangerous goods
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently – frequent heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs and occasionally moving (pushing, pulling, etc) up to 100 lbs
- Accurately complete delivery, shipping, and warehouse documentation
- Maintain professional relationships with customers at delivery locations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
- Maintain compliance with East Penn health & safety policies and procedures at all times
- Occasionally assist with warehouse duties and inventory counts
Experience & Qualifications
- 3-5 years of commercial AZ delivery driving experience
- Valid AZ driver’s licence with air brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Able to push, pull, or move up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Strong customer service skills and enjoy working with people
- Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking) with the ability to confidently provide customers with delivery and product information when requested
- Comfortable working with mobile technology
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Able to maintain composure and professionalism at all times
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience a strong asset
- Forklift certification, liftgate experience, and a background of transporting dangerous goods are strong assets
Additional Considerations
- Background checks including criminal checks, employment references, and drivers’ abstracts will be required as a condition of employment
- Hiring range for this role is $28.00 to $30.00 per hour. Exact salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
