We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to join our client's leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on, dynamic environment and supporting both employees and management across a broad range of HR functions.
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Operations, the Human Resources Manager will act as a trusted HR business partner to divisional managers and executives. This role will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment, payroll and benefits support, compliance, labour relations, training, HR documentation, and workplace culture initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have progressive HR experience in a unionized environment, strong knowledge of employment legislation, and previous exposure to an industrial, construction, or similarly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide HR guidance to managers and employees on policies, procedures, employee relations, and employment legislation.
- Support workplace investigations, conflict resolution, complaint handling, and employee relations matters.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for entry-level, professional, and technical roles.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, employee engagement, recognition, and training initiatives.
- Complete weekly payroll and benefits submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Administer benefits programs and support retirement, offboarding, and exit interview processes.
- Maintain HR records, job descriptions, employee files, HR systems, and documentation.
- Support compensation, performance evaluation processes, and salary structure administration.
- Foster positive labour relations within a unionized facility and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreement requirements.
- Support the interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements, including assisting with grievance-related matters, labour relations discussions, and union communications as required.
- Participate in collective bargaining, labour-related proceedings, and regulatory research as required.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies in alignment with employment standards, labour requirements, and company needs.
- Plan staff events and support initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is required.
- CHRP or CHRL designation is considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or management-level role.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is required or strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements, labour relations, grievance processes, and the application of unionized workplace requirements.
- Experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, compensation, compliance, and employment legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning HR systems and software.

Pay: $80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
