JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day accounting support by assisting with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll administration, reconciliations, and general accounting activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time, 5 days per week in the office
Location: GTA East
Reports to: Financial Controller
Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (based on your experience and qualifications, with real opportunity for advancement as you grow with us.)
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare and issue customer invoices.
- Record incoming customer payments.
- Assist with collections by following up on outstanding accounts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
Payroll Support
- Manage full-cycle payroll for unionized and nonunionized employees
- Calculate Commission
- Prepare, Remit and Reconcile EHT, WSIB, Union Reporting
- Issue ROEs, prepare T4s and T2200s
- Reconcile payroll liabilities and employee expenses.
General Accounting
- Prepare daily bank deposits and perform bank reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Assist with data entry, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Support external auditors by preparing requested documentation.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY OPERATE IN THE ROLE
EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Working toward an accounting designation is considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting procedures.
- Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY EXECUTE THE ABOVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (QuickBooks experience is an asset).
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support the finance team.
