Position Title: Equipment Operator
Salary Range: $41/hr + OT (This works out to $47.83/hr over a 12 hour day).
About the Client and Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Operator for a contract opportunity supporting construction activities at a busy mining operation in Ontario. This position is expected to begin within the next two weeks and operates on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy equipment in a mining or heavy construction environment, including excavators, haul truck, dozers, graders, and loaders. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts. Compensation is $41.00/hour, with overtime paid after 8 hours per day, resulting in an average blended rate of approximately $47.83/hour over a 12-hour shift. This contract is anticipated to run for approximately 3–4 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements. Camp accommodations and meals are provided for the duration of the assignment. Successful candidates will be required to complete a medical assessment, criminal record check, and provide professional references prior to onboarding.
We prefer someone who is not working and the expected start date for this work is June 15th.
This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company to strive to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"
Main Accountabilities:
- Operate Dozer, Grader, Loader, haul truck, rock trucks, Excavators
- Civil Construction Experience
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
- Fuel and Lube Equipment
Main Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment
- Previous experience in a Mine, Aggregate or Oil and Gas environment
- Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment
- Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
- Ability to work in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Must be able to identify hazards and perform the role in a safe manner
- Must also possess an understanding of the issues regarding safety and the ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
CERTIFICATIONS or Credentials
All of the below are assets to have - we will review on a case by case basis
- CSTS-09 or Other Safety Training
- Valid Class 5 license or related/equivalent with a clean drivers abstract
- Valid Ground Disturbance Level 2 or related training
