This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 1 September 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 9 September 2026.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide and promote safety and well-being of clients, meeting or exceeding the patient's expectations in a service role. Meal and nourishment delivery and pick up, food assembly; ware washing; cleaning and sanitizing of work area and equipment; adhering to safe food handling and sanitation practices; storing supplies through established procedures; working effectively on a team; and other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food Handler's training and certification is required;
- Previous food preparation and/or food service experience;
- Proven working knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation;
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively interact
with all levels of staff and public and provide good customer service;
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment;
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning,
lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time;
- Proven good manual dexterity;
- Working knowledge of standardized recipes and portion control an asset;
- Knowledge in food service sanitizing work areas, equipment, dishes and utensils, an asset;
- Must be flexible in terms of availability for weekends, holidays, and for short notice call-in's;

- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety
