About Us

Edion Staffing Agency is looking for an Accounting Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be assigned to a professional accounting office in Whitby, Ontario, where you will provide accurate and timely accounting and tax services to individuals, owner-managed businesses, and corporations across Ontario. We are looking for someone who takes pride in delivering quality work, maintaining professionalism, and building strong working relationships.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Accountant who is eager to grow in public accounting and become an integral member of our team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
 Bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations
 Preparing and filing HST/GST returns
 Preparing payroll and payroll remittances
 Recording journal entries and month-end adjustments
 Preparing working papers for year-end financial statements
 Assisting with corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax return preparation
 Communicating with clients to obtain accounting records and resolve questions
 Assisting with CRA correspondence and compliance matters
 Maintaining organized electronic client files
 Supporting senior accountant on various engagements

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

 Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (public accounting
experience is an asset) Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
 Good knowledge of HST/GST rules
 Basic understanding of Canadian personal and corporate income tax
 Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop
 Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
 Excellent organizational and time-management skills
 Strong attention to detail and accuracy
 Professional communication skills
 Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Assets

The following qualifications would be considered an asset:

 Experience with CaseWare, TaxCycle, CanTax, or similar tax software
 Payroll experience
 Progress toward CPA designation

Work Environment

This is an in-office position located in Whitby, Ontario. Candidates must be able to

commute to our office.

During busy periods, particularly tax season, flexibility to work overtime and occasional

Saturdays is required.
