Medical Office Administrator (Full-Time)

BayWest Medical Centre – Durham Region

BayWest Medical Centre is seeking a full-time Medical Office Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a reliable, professional, and patient-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Position Details

Full-time position
Evening and Saturday shifts may be required occasionally
Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities

Greet, register, and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
Maintain accurate patient records and update the EMR system
Take patient vitals and room patients efficiently
Perform clinical support tasks, including preparing vaccines and assisting physicians with required procedures
Support smooth patient flow and uphold clinic policies
Complete scanning, filing, and general administrative duties
Carry out ad hoc duties assigned by management
Perform additional tasks required by physicians to support patient care and clinic operations

Qualifications

Mandatory: 2–3 years of recent experience working in a medical clinic as a Medical Office Administrator or in a similar medical office role
Experience taking patient vitals and providing basic clinical support is preferred
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
Proficiency with EMR systems
Professional, punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Availability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays
