Position Summary

We are seeking a General Labourer for a summer student position based in Port Perry. This role is ideal for a student who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and is interested in gaining experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, and mechanical support.

This is a seasonal summer position, with the possibility of continuing part-time during the school year based on performance, availability, and company needs.

Responsibilities

Operate hand tools and power tools safely under supervision.
Assist with manufacturing tasks related to exhaust and ventilation systems.
Support mechanical assembly and general shop work.
Help keep the shop, warehouse, and work areas clean and organized.
Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and preparing items for jobs.
Support warehouse-related tasks as required.
Assist with basic maintenance activities on-site and off-site when needed.
Follow safety procedures and workplace instructions at all times.
Work with team members to help complete tasks and meet project timelines.
Perform other general labour duties as required.

Qualifications

Student currently enrolled in high school, college, university, or a skilled trades-related program is preferred.
Interest in mechanical work, manufacturing, trades, or hands-on learning.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is an asset.
Previous shop, warehouse, construction, or labour experience is an asset, but not required.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Physically able to perform manual labour, including lifting, standing, bending, and working with tools.
Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
Forklift certification is an asset.
