About Classic Fireplace & BBQ Store

For over 35 years, Classic Fireplace & BBQ Store has been helping homeowners across the GTA and Durham Region create comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces. With five inspiring showrooms and partnerships with leading manufacturers, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products and outstanding customer service from purchase through installation and ongoing service.

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Gas Technician to join our growing service team. A valid Ontario Gas Technician 2 (G2) License is a mandatory requirement for this position. This refers to the TSSA Gas Technician certification and not a G2 driver's licence. Applicants without a valid G2 Gas License will not be considered.

This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas and propane fireplaces and BBQs throughout Durham Region and East Toronto.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent - Monday-Friday
Schedule: 40 hours per week with flexibility based on customer needs

Responsibilities

Install natural gas and propane fireplaces and BBQs in customers' homes.
Service, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair gas fireplaces and BBQ equipment.
Inspect systems and components to ensure safe operation and identify necessary repairs.
Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining a high level of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Accurately complete service documentation and communicate findings to customers and office staff.
Participate in manufacturer training and stay current with new products and technologies.
Follow all company safety policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications

G2 Gas Technician License: Must hold a valid provincial G2 Gas Technician Certificate (minimum) with an active Record of Training. Please note: This refers to a TSSA gas trade license, not a graduated driving license.
Experience servicing and installing gas fireplaces and/or BBQs is considered an asset.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
