This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 9 June 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 16 June 2026.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Manager Patient Registration and Central Booking, the Registration/ Admitting Clerk is responsible for office and clerical functions in the Emergency Department including: registering all Emergency patients, providing direction and information to ER patients and their families; utilizing EPIC registration module, documenting WSIB, collecting and documenting insurance information, creating financial forms and receiving payments, answering telephone inquiries and relaying accurate messages; morgue processes, and other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and 2 years recent experience;
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of EPIC;
- Keyboarding skills of 35 w.p.m. (tested);
- Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
- Proven ability to work well in a high paced environment with frequent interruptions;
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter;
- Physically capable of reaching, pulling, bending, walking, lifting, carrying frequently throughout the shift to accomplish tasks;
- Proven attention to detail;
- The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritization, organizational and time-management abilities;
- Must have satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
