Inside Sales Associate (Business Development)
Location: Oshawa, Canada
About Us
My client is a global manufacturer of custom-engineered bulk material handling and conveying systems. For more than 50 years, they have helped customers improve efficiency, product quality and operational performance across industries including food processing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plastics, minerals and industrial manufacturing.
Our reputation has been built on engineering excellence, innovative solutions and long-term customer partnerships. As we continue to grow, we're looking for ambitious commercial talent who want to build a long-term career in technical sales.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their sales career who enjoys creating opportunities, speaking with new people and developing their commercial skills.
As an Inside Sales Associate, your primary responsibility will be generating qualified sales opportunities for our Regional Sales Managers through targeted outbound prospecting. You'll research companies, identify decision-makers, initiate conversations and qualify customer requirements before handing opportunities over to the field sales team.
Alongside prospecting, you'll also support the wider sales function by qualifying inbound enquiries, preparing quotations, conducting customer research and maintaining accurate CRM records.
This role is designed as a development position for someone with the ambition to grow into a Regional Sales Manager over time. We are looking for potential, curiosity and drive rather than extensive industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new sales opportunities through proactive outbound calling, email campaigns and LinkedIn outreach.
- Research target industries, manufacturing facilities and prospective customers.
- Identify key decision-makers and build prospect lists using common sales prospecting and CRM tools.
- Qualify customer opportunities by understanding applications, manufacturing processes, timelines and project requirements.
- Schedule qualified meetings and hand opportunities to Regional Sales Managers.
- Follow up consistently with prospective customers while maintaining a professional, consultative approach.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, activities and follow-up schedules.
- Support qualification of inbound enquiries.
- Assist with quotation preparation and customer research.
- Coordinate with Regional Sales Managers and internal departments to support the sales process.
- Continue developing product knowledge and industry understanding through ongoing training.

- Junior Business Development
- Inside Sales
- Industrial Distribution

- Experience using CRM systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
