Position Title: Haul Truck Operator (Fly in/ fly out)
Salary Range: $39/hr + OT (This works out to $45.50/hr over a 12 hour day).
About the Client and Role
We are on the hunt for a Haul Truck Operator for a contract position as part of the Mine Operations Team at a mine in Northwestern Ontario. We require an operator with experience on the 830E. This is a rotational operation with a 1 week on, 1 week off schedule and will require day and night shifts. Work hours are 12 per day, 7 days on rotation. We provide travel services for your travel to site and return. Rate is $39/hr plus overtime after 8 hours per day ($45.50/hr over a 12-hour day). These are 3-6 month contracts, with the possibility of extension. Camp accommodations are provided.
This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company to strive to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"
Main Accountabilities:
- Operate Haul Trucks (Komatsu 830E, 930, 980)
- Production Mine Environment (Open Pit)
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
- Fuel and Lube Equipment
Main Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment
- Previous experience in a Mine, Aggregate or Oil and Gas environment
- Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment
- Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
- Ability to work in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Must be able to identify hazards and perform the role in a safe manner
- Must also possess an understanding of the issues regarding safety and the ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
CERTIFICATIONS or Credentials
All of the below are assets to have - we will review on a case by case basis
- CSTS-09 or Other Safety Training
- Valid Class 5 license or related/equivalent with a clean drivers abstract
- Valid Ground Disturbance Level 2 or related training
Heavy Equipment Operators Certificate
