Summary of Position
The Quality Assurance Specialist leads/assists with the design, implementation, and monitoring of facility related processes and quality activities. Oversees the daily tactical issues and concerns with the quality related processes across multiple entities/facilities. Develops processes and procedures with facility management that support quality improvement and facility throughput efforts. Works with facility managers, supervisors and QA personnel to identify concerns, jointly develop and implement corrective actions and solutions. Assists with development/implementation of facility and accessory installation training programs. Ensures that manufacturing processes are developed to optimize facility throughput assuring that they support vehicle movement goals and objectives. Assists with the adaptation and implementation of LEAN manufacturing concepts and techniques across multiple entities/facilities.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Tasks

Travel to facilities to lead/support continuous improvement, implementation and sustainment of the company's internal facility audit program.

Travel to facilities to lead/support the development, implementation, and monitoring of facility related process flow charts, SOPs/ SOIs and training processes.
- Lead/support the development, standardization, and implementation of quality verification tools/formats such as QC check sheets, and TGW reporting/tracking to include data collection methods to measure and report current state quality status.

Lead/support facilities with analysis and reporting of company/customer quality status

Lead/support facilities with training and guidance of standardized problem solving (A3, 8D, 5P, etc.) methods.

Support startup/process development for yard, rail, accessorization, and manufacturing.

Support installation training/SIT validation.

Support/assist with the implementation and monitoring of LEAN concepts and Kaizen activities.

Lead and support the continuous improvement, and sustainment of the company's Yearly Internal Facility Audit Program by conducting, reporting results and following up on facility opportunity improvements at each assign facility.

Support facilities with development of needed flow charts, SOP/SOI procedures, and training documents. Review and understand current documents in place meet necessary requirements. Determine gaps / opportunities and work jointly with facility managers and supervisors to teach and assist with document development, standardization, and implementation.

Lead/support the development and implementation of quality verification tools and formats (manual and electronic) to be used throughout the facilities. Work jointly with the facilities to develop/implement/sustain robust data collection and reporting methods used to drive continuous improvement.
- Support facilities with the analysis and reporting of internal quality monitoring data and external quality information (i.e., customer site audit, daily inspection findings, transportation and warranty claims). Work with locations requiring support and working jointly with facility management to perform root cause analysis and robust process improvement item implementation.

Support operations and customer base by effectively managing process related concerns using A3 / 8D / 5P problem solving methodologies. Provide technical direction (process replication new techniques, new technologies or concepts) and leadership to operations for effective problem resolution and countermeasure implementation.

Support process development to ensure that all new facility start-ups / customer programs are "facility ready" developed (tools, fixtures, process instructions, training, etc.) before the start of production. Attend startup meetings to support, report status and direction of upcoming program development.

Support facilities with installation training and SIT validation by working jointly with facility management on process validation and training.

Perform other quality related tasks as assigned.

Majority of work is indoors
- Will be exposed to all types of weather conditions when visiting other facilities

Significant travel (up to 50%) within the U.S. and Canada is required
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements

Ability to Work in Canada with out Sponsorship

Bachelor's degree in quality or manufacturing technology (or equivalent work experience)

5+ years of related experience with a strong automotive background

Quality assurance tools and techniques
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing practices
- Knowledge of A3 / 8D / 5P or other types of problem-solving methodologies

Strong written and oral communication skills

Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Ability to travel to various facilities frequently

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in quality and statistical analysis, including use of tools and techniques for process improvement

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
