Full job description

Durham Psychotherapy is a therapist-led group practice serving Pickering, Durham Region, and the GTA. We provide evidence-based, trauma-informed care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families—offering both in-person and virtual services. We’re expanding our psychology services and are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who values clinical excellence, ethical practice, and collaborative team culture.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a psychologist who wants a steady flow of aligned referrals, strong administrative support, and the flexibility to focus on high-quality clinical work. You can shape a caseload that fits your interests, with strong demand for:

Psychological assessment (including diagnostic clarification and treatment planning)
Psychoeducational and ADHD/learning-related assessment pathways (if within your scope/interest)
Evidence-based psychotherapy (adult and/or child/youth focus)

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality psychological services including assessment, diagnosis (when appropriate), and treatment
Conduct evidence-based psychotherapy using modalities such as CBT, ACT, CPT, DBT-informed, EFT-informed, and/or trauma-focused approaches consistent with your competence
Complete clear, clinically sound documentation (assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports)
Participate in consultation/collaboration with internal clinicians and external providers (family physicians, psychiatrists, schools, etc.) as appropriate and with consent
Maintain ethical standards consistent with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and PHIPA

Preferred Clinical Areas (Choose Your Track)

We’re open to different strengths, but we’re especially interested in psychologists who enjoy one or more of the following:

Assessment-focused

Psychoeducational assessments (child/adolescent and/or adult)
ADHD assessment pathways
Diagnostic clarification and differential formulation
Report writing that is clear, functional, and clinically meaningful

Therapy-focused

Trauma, anxiety, depression, stress/burnout
Emotion regulation, attachment/relational work
Child/youth and family systems support
Couples therapy (if trained/competent)

Qualifications

Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
Competence in psychological assessment and/or psychotherapy (we can structure your role to match your strengths)
Strong clinical judgment, relational skill, and a commitment to evidence-based practice
Excellent written communication (especially for assessment reports)
Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive manner
