Position Overview
The Crew Lead / Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations and ensuring our clients’ properties remain in exceptional condition throughout the year.
This role requires strong leadership skills, experience with landscaping and property maintenance equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a property maintenance crew
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including:
- Riding lawn mowers
- Walk-behind and push mowers
- Hand tools and power tools
- Operate a plow truck during winter season
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Train crew members on procedures, equipment use, and safety standards
- Monitor supply needs and report concerns to management
- Act as liaison between crew members and management
- Apply weed and insect control treatments as required
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in property maintenance
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Crew Lead or supervisory role
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving a truck and trailer
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required)
- Experience operating trucks with trailers
- Basic mechanical and small equipment repair knowledge (asset)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including:
- Extreme cold (winter)
- Heat (summer)
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs repeatedly throughout shift
- Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekends year round with the possibility of overnight shifts during winter plowing season
