General Labourer – Renovation & Construction
Starting at $20/hour | Higher starting wage based on demonstrated skills and experience
Multi-Trade Building Services is looking for a dependable, hardworking General Labourer to join our renovation team.
We're not necessarily looking for the person with the longest construction résumé. We're looking for the right person.
If you're reliable, willing to learn, take pride in doing things properly and can follow directions carefully, we'd like to hear from you. Renovation or construction experience is definitely an asset, but lack of experience will not automatically exclude you from consideration. We're willing to train someone who brings the right attitude and work ethic.

What you'll be doing
Every day can be a little different. Depending on your experience and abilities, work may include:
- Assisting our tradespeople with residential renovation projects
- Demolition and site preparation
- Moving and organizing tools and materials
- Jobsite setup and cleanup
- Protecting floors, furnishings and finished surfaces
- Removing construction debris
- Basic carpentry and renovation tasks
- Helping with painting and preparation work
- Helping with installing trim, baseboard and other finishes
- Assisting with kitchens, bathrooms and other renovation projects
- Learning additional renovation skills as your abilities grow
If you already have renovation or construction skills, we'd love to hear about them.
Hours
This position is not guaranteed full-time hours initially. Hours will depend on our workload as well as your experience, skill level and the types of tasks you're able to perform.
For someone who brings useful renovation skills and can take on a wider variety of work, there may be the opportunity for full-time or close to full-time hours quite quickly.
For someone newer to the industry, hours can grow as you learn our systems, develop your skills and become able to take on more responsibilities.
We're looking for someone interested in becoming a valuable part of our team—not simply filling a temporary labour position.
Pay
Starting wage is $20/hour and up, depending on demonstrated experience and skill level.
We understand that a résumé doesn't always tell the whole story. Your starting wage will reflect the skills and experience you bring to the position, and we'll assess your abilities on the job early in your employment.
If you demonstrate a higher skill level than your initial wage reflects, we're happy to recognize that. Likewise, wages are based on the skills you can actually perform safely and independently—not simply the number of years you've worked in construction.
There is room to grow both your skills and your earnings with us.
A few things that matter to us
Our team works inside people's homes, often while our clients are living there. That means character matters just as much as construction ability.
We need someone who is respectful, trustworthy, cooperative and comfortable working as part of a team. We take pride in our work and in the way we treat our clients and their homes.
You don't have to know everything on Day One.
You do need to be willing to listen, learn, work hard and do things properly.
