Position Summary
The Shop Locksmith is responsible for performing locksmith services within our retail and service shop. This includes cutting keys, rekeying locks, assembling hardware, assisting customers at the counter, and supporting field technicians with prepared hardware and key systems.
This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and excellent customer service in a fast-paced locksmith environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut and duplicate residential, commercial, and automotive keys
- Rekey locks and prepare hardware for customer orders and technician jobs
- Assemble, repair, and maintain locksmith hardware
- Assist customers at the service counter with lock and key solutions
- Maintain accurate records of key codes, lock systems, and customer orders
- Organize and maintain shop inventory of locksmith tools, hardware, and supplies
- Prepare locksets, cylinders, and key systems for installation jobs
- Assist field technicians by preparing job materials and key systems
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Support general shop operations and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous locksmith experience preferred (shop or field)
- Experience cutting keys and rekeying locks is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with locksmith tools and hardware
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to perform precise work
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and expand locksmith skills
Compensation & Benefits
- $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Health and dental insurance available
- 2 weeks vacation and 5 paid sick days per year
