Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Firewood Splitter to join our team in North Pickering. This role involves splitting firewood efficiently and safely to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to operate heavy equipment as needed. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the preparation of high-quality firewood products.

Responsibilities

Safely operate tools such as axes, wedges, and power splitters to split firewood according to specifications.
Use heavy equipment when necessary for processing large quantities of wood.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Assist with stacking, loading, and transporting firewood as required.
Follow safety protocols at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications

Prior experience with mechanical systems, construction, or landscape maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance is advantageous.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance procedures.
Ability to operate or learn to operate commercial driving vehicles if needed for transportation tasks.
Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads regularly.
Basic understanding of GIS or related mapping tools is a plus but not required.
Excellent safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines.
Prior experience working outdoors in varied weather conditions is beneficial. This position is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to a team focused on quality craftsmanship in firewood production.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
