We are seeking a QC and Tech Assistant for managing the daily operations of the technical support and repair department.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Technical Service team with the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and servicing of woodworking and metalworking machinery.
Assist with the inspection, testing, and certification requirements of new machinery, including CSA and ETL compliance.
Assist with machine assembly, adjustment, and calibration.
Assist in identifying, locating, and preparing parts required for machine repairs and service.
Follow all applicable company safety standards, technical procedures, and established work practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of woodworking and metalworking machinery is an asset.
Previous mechanical, electrical, or equipment repair experience is an asset.
Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills, procedures, and equipment.
Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals, drawings, specifications, and service procedures is an asset.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
Ability to perform physically demanding, hands-on work, including lifting and handling heavy machinery, components, and equipment.
Ability to follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Working Conditions

Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Requires standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
Work is performed in a busy retail environment with some customer interaction.
May be required to assist in other departments or functions based on store needs.
