At Fresh St. Market's Deli Department, we provide a wide variety of fresh, high-quality products with a strong emphasis on local and specialty items designed to meet and exceed our customer's expectations. We recommend foods and provide samples of fine meats and cheeses. We also maintain clean work areas, update displays, and inform customers about specials, promotions, and new items

Reporting to the Department Leader, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Overview

Bring a positive attitude every day
Greeting customers and assisting them with questions and recommendations
Serving customers their favourite deli products in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner. This includes slicing deli meats, heating up and wrapping sandwiches, and more.
Preparing to-go food products such as sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and noodle bowls.
Preparing hot menu offers such as soups, curries, rice, roasted chicken, and more.
Cutting and wrapping cheese products.
Ensures that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors.
Follows all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
Performing any additional duties assigned by the Department Leader.

You have an impeccable level of cleanliness, attention to detail, and organization
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to shifting priorities
You are highly self-motivated and work well under minimal supervision
You possess strong customer service skills
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You work well with others in a high-pressure environment
Previous work experience is a plus but not required. If you are willing to learn, we are eager to train you with the skills you need to succeed
You can work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day
You have a valid work authorization (i.e., work permit, student permit, PR) in Canada
