Vehicle Installer / Technician

AVO Vehicle Outfitting Inc.

AVO Vehicle Outfitting is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Installer / Vehicle Technician to join our growing team. This role focuses on the installation, wiring, and maintenance of aftermarket equipment on emergency service vehicles, including police, fire, and municipal fleets.

What You’ll Do

Install aftermarket equipment on emergency service vehicles (lights, sirens, wiring, communication systems, etc.)
Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and install products
Follow schematics, manuals, and instructions for accurate installations
Remove and reinstall vehicle panels and components
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on installed systems
Remove equipment from decommissioned vehicles
Test all installed equipment to ensure proper operation
Lift and move equipment and materials as required
Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Qualifications & Skills

Previous installation or related experience preferred (minimum 1 year an asset)
Knowledge of 12-volt wiring and aftermarket vehicle equipment is a strong asset
Proficient with hand tools and power tools
Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks (frequent lifting 10–20 lbs, occasional lifting up to 70 lbs)
Comfortable working in tight or awkward spaces and performing kneeling/bending tasks
Ability to accurately distinguish wire colours (not colour blind)

Required

Legally permitted to work in Canada (PR or Canadian Citizenship)
Valid Driver’s License
Fluent in English
Clean criminal record
Ability to pass an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (mandatory)
