Intermediate Electrical Designer
Location: Surrey, BC (Hybrid)

Reports To: Discipline Lead
Hycroft is looking for an Intermediate Electrical Designer who can work independently on multi-project deliverables and mentor junior staff while producing high-quality electrical design drawings.
About the Role
As an Intermediate Electrical Designer, you will independently produce single line diagrams, schematic and wiring drawings, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and load schedules on multiple concurrent projects. You will coordinate with engineers, mentor junior designers, and contribute to CAD standards and best practices.
This is a hybrid role based in Surrey, BC.
What You'll Do
- Independently produce single line diagrams, schematic and wiring drawings, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and load schedules on multiple concurrent projects
- Apply advanced AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical skills to complex design challenges
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines on integrated designs
- Mentor junior designers and review their work
- Contribute to development of CAD standards, templates, and procedures
- Support estimating and proposal efforts with drawing samples and quantities
- Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and gather as-built data
What You Bring
- Diploma or certificate in CAD design, drafting, or related technical program
- 5–8 years of electrical design design experience
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
- Solid knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, hazardous areas, and industrial power distribution
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables independently
- Authorized to work in Canada
Nice to Have
- Industrial sector background
- Experience with Revit, 3D modelling, or BIM workflows
- A.Sc.T. designation
