Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and determining the nature of defects and malfunctions on trailers. The Technician must follow all preventive maintenance practices. He/She will adjust and repair equipment, replace defective parts, and install or replace components using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Perform annual and periodic inspections on equipment
Detect problems of any nature
Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer and government requirements
Clean and lubricate equipment and trailers
Complete repairs within prescribed deadlines
Perform major and minor repairs such as brakes, suspension, lights, etc.
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation
Perform other related duties as required

Ability to use and understand diagnostic equipment
Ability to diagnose and repair any type of trailer
Ability to work safely in a high-pressure environment
Ability to present oneself in a positive and professional manner
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, supervisors, and clients
Ability to deﬁne problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset

Requirements

2 to 5 years of experience in a related position
