You will manage approximately 800-900 deliveries annually, continually growing through exposure to a spectrum of interesting cases. Our well-equipped operating rooms serve as the ideal setting for you to take on complex obstetric challenges, from twin pregnancies to intricate scenarios, enabling your professional growth.
Our neonatal unit allows you to provide holistic care for patients, while our collaborative multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, urologists, psychiatrists, internists, and surgeons, offers robust support. Join us at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), an 80-bed regional referral centre serving approximately 82,000 individuals in the beautiful East Kootenay region of BC.
Our 24/7 emergency and trauma services feature a 16-bed unit and a 6-bed ICU. Our high-acuity-response-team provides mobile critical care to stabilize and transfer rural patients.
The hospital includes a level 3 lab with new PCR and MALDI/TOF machines, plus new MRI, SPECT CT, and upcoming CT scanners in the radiology department. Construction is also underway for a new NICU, renovated ER triage, and oncology and renal departments.

Clinical Service Contract
Estimated Remuneration
As an OB/GYN working full time in Cranbrook, you’ll earn $370,492 on your APP contract, plus MOCAP level 1.
Physician Overhead
Integrate into an existing practice with beneficial overhead models or carve out your own practice while optimizing overhead costs.

Relocation Funding Available
$9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada.
Recruitment Incentive
$20,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time.
Other Benefits/Incentives
With RCME, you’ll be eligible to receive $1,800 for up to 2 years in Cranbrook, $4,800 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $7,800 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
