Job Description
Under the direction of the Chef de Cuisine, Salt + Ash Beach House is seeking a Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward to support our kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a smooth workflow in the kitchen, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

What you will be doing as a Kitchen Steward:

Operating dishwashers efficiently;
Ensuring that kitchen equipment, utensils, plates, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards;
Cleaning and sanitizing dishwasher mats, dish carts and dish racks;
Responsible for receiving, stocking and organizing food and supply orders;
Safely handling and storing cleaning products;
General dish area maintenance which includes sweeping, mopping, organization and removal of garbage and compost;
Such other similar or related duties as may be required from time to time.

The person we are looking for has:

Previous experience working in a dishwasher role or similar environment an asset
Strong attention to detail;
The ability to take direction and remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment;
Organizational skills and an ability to multi-task;
Able to spend 100% of the time standing;
The ability to handle heavy lifting up 50 lbs;
A reliable form of transportation, as public transportation may not be available late at night.
