Full job description

In business since 1994, 24 Carrots Bakery is a busy wholesale/retail bakery located in the north end of Halifax. We have an opening for a Part-time (leading to full time) Packager on our bread baking shift (2 to 3 night/backshift shifts per week).

Packaging involves slicing, bagging, and labeling fresh breads, buns, and rolls; and sorting orders for delivery to customers.

We are seeking a candidate with a preference for working Backshift, excellent organizational skills, and works well as part of a team.

Position requirements:

Previous experience working BACKSHIFTS is preferred
Experience with FOOD HANDLING
Experience working in a bakery or other food establishment is preferred
Ability to perform repetitive tasks well and in a consistent manner
Comfortable working in the heat
Commercial cleaning (tables, surfaces, dishwasher, floors, bathrooms)
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Good numeracy skills- Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Current Food Handler Certificate considered an asset.
Criminal Record Check will be required

Night/backshifts beginning at 8:00 - 9:00 PM, Monday, Thursday & Friday nights, depending on business levels. Weekends off.
