The Medicine program at University Hospital offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to provide quality, holistic care to patients and their families across the life continuum. Clinical Nurses on the Medicine unit play an integral role on the interdisciplinary team to provide patient/ family centered care for the acutely ill, sub-acute and palliative care population.

What we offer:

Regular Part-Time

Rate of Pay: $37.10 per hour - $37.77 per hour

Part-time employees receive a percentage in lieu of vacation and benefits, providing additional compensation on top of regular wages

Hours of work: No guarantee of hours

Part-time employees will have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts based on unit operational needs and availability

Qualifications

Current Certificate of General Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Proof of current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof upon request
Previous experience in geriatric, palliative, and general acute care nursing preferred
Demonstrated patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptation to change in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands
Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Evidence of high-level initiative and commitment to self-directed learning
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a cooperative and facilitative manner
Demonstrated clinical skills including time management, organization, prioritizing, critical thinking, and problem solving
Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
