Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Lead Field Welder to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee welding operations on construction sites, lead a team of skilled welders, and ensure all fabrication and assembly work meets strict quality standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques and mechanical knowledge will help us deliver exceptional structures efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate welding activities on construction sites, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety protocols
Perform SMAW, FCAW welding with precision according to blueprints and schematics
Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for fabrication and assembly tasks
Supervise the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment
Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy
Oversee rigging, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and mechanical assembly processes on-site
Maintain safety standards by enforcing proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices

Qualifications

Proven construction site experience with a strong background in structural welding and fabrication. MUST have valid CWB ticket
Skilled in SMAW welding techniques; experience with all position
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
Mechanical knowledge including pipe threading, machining, soldering, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and schematics interpretation
Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for welding and fabrication processes
Experience operating forklifts, power tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, and machining tools
Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary in fabrication tasks
Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high safety standards
