The Internal Communications Intern supports the planning, production, publication and operational execution of global internal communications initiatives across multiple enterprise communication channels.
This role is responsible for coordinating the distribution and publication of internal communications content through enterprise platforms including Poppulo, SharePoint/Intranet, and Viva Engage. The intern also supports the Business Partner team for initiatives through communications operations, campaign coordination, metrics reporting, and visual asset preparation.
The ideal candidate can learn and develop organizational and communication skills with technical proficiency, digital platform expertise, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Internal communications publishing & distribution
- Coordinate the publication and distribution of global internal communications through enterprise communication platforms, including Poppulo, SharePoint Online/Intranet, and Viva Engage.
- Build and distribute bilingual global email communications using branded templates and enterprise communication standards.
- Prepare and publish internal news articles, announcements, and campaign content for enterprise audiences.
- Support bilingual communication workflows and coordinate translation requests for English and French communications.
Executive & enterprise communications support
- Support executive communications initiatives through the creation of Outlook email templates and communication assets.
- Assist with the preparation and formatting of executive presentations and communication materials.
- Support urgent internal communications requests and time-sensitive executive deliverables.
Communications operations & campaign coordination
- Maintain and update internal communications campaign calendars and content schedules.
- Coordinate timelines, approvals, and follow-ups with internal stakeholders and Business Partners.
- Ensure campaign information and communications activities remain accurate and up to date across internal tracking systems.
- Support internal communications governance and process documentation initiatives.
Reporting & analytics
- Produce monthly communications performance reports and engagement metrics.
- Analyze internal communications performance across channels including:
o Poppulo
o Global News/Intranet articles
o Viva Engage
o Google Analytics dashboards
- Support campaign reporting and post-mortem activities for major enterprise initiatives.
Visual communications & presentation support
- Prepare branded communication assets using approved corporate templates.
- Design and edit PowerPoint presentations to ensure clarity, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
- Support the creation of visual communication materials for communication plans, comms packs, and enterprise campaigns.
Digital platform & technical support
- Support SharePoint site maintenance, migration activities, permissions coordination, and content organization.
- Contribute to process improvements, workflow optimization, and AI-enabled knowledge resources for the communications team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Education & experience
- Currently enrolled in postsecondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
Technical skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly:
o PowerPoint
o Excel
o Outlook
o Teams
- Experience with enterprise communication and publishing platforms such as:
o Poppulo
o SharePoint Online
o Viva Engage
o Divvy HQ
- Experience with AI tools such as:
o Chat GPT
o Microsoft CoPilot

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role, which involves interactions with both national and international clients.
