Wage: The posted starting rate of $33.15/hour is the Journeyperson rate. Wage rates may vary based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and project requirements.

A Union Signatory Painting Contractor is seeking experienced Commercial Painters for ongoing commercial and multi-residential projects in and around Drayton Valley, Alberta.
We are looking for skilled commercial painters who can contribute as experienced painters, lead hands, or progress into foreperson and supervisory roles. All work is located in the Drayton Valley area. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to and from the job site each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform painting and coating applications on commercial and multi-residential construction projects
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, patching, cleaning, priming, and other surface preparation methods
- Apply paints, coatings, stains, and specialty finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
- Read and interpret project specifications to ensure quality workmanship
- Lead crews and coordinate daily work activities when required
- Maintain productivity, safety, and workmanship standards on site
- Mentor apprentices and less experienced painters
- Complete project documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
What We're Looking For
- Several years of commercial painting experience is required
- Previous foreperson, lead hand, or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset
- Experience working on commercial and multi-residential construction projects
- Experience with spray application equipment and specialty coatings is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Reliable transportation with the ability to report to job sites in the Drayton Valley area each day
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality workmanship
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and varying job site conditions
- Relevant safety certifications such as Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, First Aid, CSTS, or equivalent are considered assets
