Full job description

Trauma Evening Support Worker

(12:45pm – 8:45 pm)

Full-time Position

Position Summary:

Assist in daily Elder’s Teachings Session.
Participate in daily operations of the program and facilitate the involvement of relatives (clients) in the program activities.
Work in close collaboration with the Relative Support Facilitator and other staff, to provide support to relatives(clients)
Support in evening activities.
Participate as a full member of the program team.
Support relatives(Trauma) in completing any assignments.
This position reports to the Associate Executive Director and Executive Director.

Qualifications and Requirements:

▪ Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences/Social or a Human Services Diploma and related experience. (A suitable combination of training and experience may be considered with a minimum High School Diploma).

▪ Experience in trauma counselling

▪ Experience in culturally safe healing.

▪ Have an intimate familiarity with Indigenous cultures and traditions.

▪ Experience working with relatives (clients) who may have literacy challenges.

▪ Comfortable using case management software; Share Vision and Share Point are an asset.

Additional Requirements:

▪ Due to the nature of our work at Tsow-Tun Le Lum; and in alignment with Board Policy: applicants must be alcohol and drug free for a minimum of 3 years(including social/occassional drinking and/or any cannabis products); and be willing to serve as a role model and maintain an abstinent lifestyle while working at Tsow-Tun Le Lum.

▪ Current Criminal Record Check (less than 6 months).

▪ Valid First Aid certificate or willing to attend First Aid training.

▪ Valid BC Driver’s License: Class 4 is an asset.

▪ Current TB Test results.
