Job description

Central Utility Services (Central Island Communications) is recruiting a Full-Time Coax and/or Fibre Splicer. As a Coax/Fibre Splicer, you will produce high quality work while using specialized skills in splicing, activations, testing, troubleshooting and more. If you are looking for a great opportunity, have good communication skills, are motivated, be willing to grow with the company,...this may be the role you are looking for!

Responsibilities:

Splice, sweep and troubleshoot existing aerial and underground coaxial cable
Optimize new Nodes and splice in node splits to reduce capacity
Utilize RF Meters and TDR (time-domain reflectometers)
Read CATV telecommunication design and prints

Qualifications:

· OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience

· Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems

· Knowledge with both Shaw or Telus Standards is necessary

· Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams

· Possess a valid driver’s License (Class 5)
