What You'll Bring to the Guest Experience

As a Prep Cook / Line Cook, you'll help create exceptional dining experiences through preparation, execution, organization, and teamwork.

Food Preparation & Culinary Execution

Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, dressings, and other ingredients according to recipes and chef specifications
Complete daily prep lists accurately and efficiently
Prepare and cook menu items during service while maintaining consistency and quality
Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and plating guides
Maintain mise en place throughout your shift
Execute chef features and daily specials with precision
Ensure every plate leaving the kitchen reflects Nisi's quality standards

Kitchen Organization & Station Readiness

Arrive shift-ready with your station fully stocked and organized
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient prep and cooking stations
Rotate product using FIFO (First In, First Out)
Properly label and date all prepared items
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to leadership
Complete opening, shift change, and closing duties to standard
Care for kitchen equipment and report maintenance concerns promptly

Food Safety & Cleanliness

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
Maintain safe food temperatures and proper storage procedures
Clean and sanitize workstations, cutting boards, knives, and equipment regularly
Keep kitchen floors clean, dry, and free of hazards
Ensure all food is properly labeled, dated, and stored
Help maintain an organized and spotless back-of-house environment

Teamwork & Kitchen Support

Support fellow cooks, prep team, dishwashers, and leadership throughout the shift
Communicate clearly with Expo, Chef, and teammates during service
Assist on different stations when business demands
Help receive, organize, and store deliveries when needed
Maintain a positive attitude during busy periods
Embrace coaching, learning, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Previous prep cook, line cook, or kitchen experience preferred
Basic knife skills and cooking knowledge
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Experience in high-volume kitchens is an asset
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Food Handler Certification is considered an asset
