Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Corporate Law Clerk to join our legal team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support corporate legal operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across a variety of legal tasks. As a Corporate Law Clerk, you will play a key role in managing legal documentation, tracking and maintaining Annual Corporate files and assisting with project management initiatives that keep our corporate activities running smoothly. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will contribute significantly to the success of our legal department. This paid position is ideal for candidates eager to develop their legal expertise in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and integrity.

Duties

Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, resolutions, and filings to ensure clarity and accuracy
Conduct searches to support corporate transactions and compliance efforts
Manage document organization and electronic filing systems to streamline access and retrieval of legal records
Assist with project management tasks related to corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
Perform data entry and maintain meticulous records of legal documents, correspondence, and filing systems
Support administrative functions including scheduling meetings, and handling phone and email inquiries with professional etiquette
Conduct thorough proofreading of all legal materials to prevent errors and ensure consistency across documentation

Experience

Proven clerical or administrative experience within a legal or corporate environment is highly preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
Demonstrated proficiency in legal drafting, writing skills, and proofreading techniques
Familiarity with Microsoft Office is necessary
Familiarity with PCLaw and Fast Company and/or Appara document management system or similar software is a plus
Exceptional phone and email etiquette combined with effective organizational skills for internal or external stakeholders
Work well independently as well as being a supportive, cooperative team member
