Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
Oversee food safety and sanitation practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Prepare and cook various dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food storage to minimize waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures, cooking techniques, and safety protocols.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Proficient in various cooking techniques and methods of food preparation.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Background in hospitality with an understanding of restaurant operations.
Experience in bartending is a plus, enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.
Ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff while maintaining a positive attitude.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring quality control.
