About E2 Academy

E2 Academy is a DSEPS (Designated Special Education Private School) where twice-exceptional (2E) learners from elementary through high school can explore, belong, and thrive. Twice-exceptional students have areas of above-average ability, talent, or giftedness, while also experiencing diagnosed learning, social, emotional, behavioural, sensory, or developmental differences that impact how they access education.

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time High School Science and Physical Education teacher who brings creativity, flexibility, and calm energy into their teaching. This role is ideal for an educator who can make high school science hands-on, accessible, and meaningful for neurodiverse learners, while also designing engaging Physical Education experiences for students from elementary through Grade 12.

The successful candidate is comfortable teaching high school science and using the Alberta Program of Studies as a flexible framework rather than a rigid script. They can break down complex concepts, adapt instruction to individual learning profiles, and create learning experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and independence.

Our PE program emphasizes regulation, confidence, teamwork, and joyful movement over competition. Because we do not have a gymnasium, the ideal candidate sees outdoor space as an opportunity rather than a limitation and can design inclusive movement experiences using parks, green spaces, community walks, and alternative equipment.

What You’ll Do

Design and deliver engaging high school science programming aligned with the Alberta Program of Studies.
Make complex science concepts accessible through hands-on, creative, and individualized instruction.
Design and deliver outdoor and non-traditional PE experiences that are safe, engaging, and adaptable to all seasons.
Use movement as a tool for regulation, confidence-building, and connection.
Adapt science and PE instruction to support a wide range of sensory, academic, physical, and emotional needs.
Teach in a way that prioritizes inclusion, participation, curiosity, and growth over competition.
Collaborate with the administration team, Learning Facilitators, other teachers, and the multidisciplinary team.
Build routines that provide structure while remaining flexible to student needs, environmental conditions, and real-world learning opportunities.

Creates safe, encouraging environments where students feel capable, understood, and successful.
Uses the Alberta Program of Studies as a flexible framework while maintaining clear expectations and structure.

Pay: $55,080.00-$92,453.00 per year
