HET Trailer Mechanic

We are currently looking for HET Journeyman, 1st or 2nd year apprentice Trailer Mechanic for our Edmonton Trailer Shop to maintain, repair and overhaul commercial transport trucks and devices connected to or moved by a power unit such as flat decks, boosters, jeeps, steering dollies, dump trailers and other commercial pull type devices.

heavy equipment/trucks* (Kenworth, Cummins, Freightliner, Detroit, CAT, MACK, Western Star, Peterbilt and Sterling etc.)

What we look for:

Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal)
Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert
Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift
Must have own tools
Class 5 driver's license
Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus
CVIP License an asset

Experience on the following considered an asset:

Tandem/Tridem Highs/ Step deck's 48’ 53’
flat decks, boosters, jeeps, steering dollies, dump trailers and other commercial pull type devices.

8 / 9 / 10 axle Combinations
