Drafter/Surveyor

Our Opportunity
As we continue to grow, our company is accepting applications for a drafting/surveying position. The successful individual will work on the Snow Lake Dam Raise projects in Snow Lake Manitoba
Your Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Eastern Regional Manager, the Drafter/Surveyor will be responsible for:
- Process incoming and outgoing drafting requests and survey work orders within a defined filing system.
- Analyze and process geospatial data across a variety of formats and coordinate systems.
- Create and calculate field layout files from digital and plan design data and provide data solutions to resolve field problems.
- Draft as-built, topographic, and cadastral survey plans for a variety of industries.
- Develop design plans and details including site layouts, project alignments, plans and profiles and sections.
- Machine Control would be an asset.
- Adhere to company/client layering and surface creating standards.
- Perform and create volumetric calculations and surface manipulation.
- Perform various surveys when field work exceeds the capacity of the site surveyor.
Your Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience using Civil 3D, with exposure to major infrastructure and civil engineering and cadastral survey projects in a consultancy environment.
- Solid experience with and/or exposure to detailed design is required.
- Two-year diploma for Civil or Survey Technologist (equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered on an individual basis). Eligibility for registration as a Technologist is an asset.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D is essential (2019+ software is preferred).
- Microstation proficiency is considered to be an asset.
- Experience with Trimble survey instrumentation and software is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of survey methodology and survey field experience is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, standards and construction methods.
- Keen attention to detail, with excellent organization and communication skills.
- Able to adapt to working in a team environment with other drafters collaborating on one project, or alone with limited supervision.
- Strong work ethic with ability to multitask in a fast pace environment and effectively prioritize workload.
