Asphalt Raker

Join our Team and gear up for an exciting career!

DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an experienced and hardworking Asphalt Raker for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area.

Responsibilities:

Rake and spread asphalt evenly and efficiently to desired thickness and grade
Assist with site preparation, demolition, and material removal
Maintain a clean and organized work site
Work closely with machine operators to maintain accurate grade levels
Manually prepare areas inaccessible by machinery
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of experience in asphalt paving
Previous experience in the civil construction industry required
Experience in grading and reading civil/structural drawings preferred
Ability to operate small engine equipment
Physically fit and able to lift 50 to 60 pounds
Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation; Class 3 considered an asset
Willingness to work long hours, including overtime during peak season
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
